Dandongadale Falls

Located at the edge of the Mt Cobbler Plateau

The King River

The King is a picturesque river, starting as a nice little freestone stream in the mountains behind Mt Stirling, it travels its way north out of the high country through the King Valley and into the Ovens River at Wangaratta. With ideal fishing conditions for all ages, trout, cod, black fish and redfin are regularly caught at the Reserve.

Mount Cobbler Dandongadale

Location - About 50km from Whitfield and recommended for 4WD from Bennies Campsite.

Recreation - Provides a long, quiet mountain bike ride. The 5km walk to the top is worthwhile.

Paradise Falls & Little Falls

Location - Paradise and Little Falls are about 18km from Whitfield.

Recreation - Provides a great mountain bike ride. The best time to see these waterfalls is in spring to enjoy the array of wildflowers.

Stringy Bark Creek & The Ned Kelly Trail

Location - Located 30kms from Whitfield, just past Tolmie on the Whitfield- Mansfield Road. The site where Ned Kelly shot and killed Thomas Lonigan.

Powers Lookout & The Ned Kelly Trail

Location - Located 20 kms north of Whitfield off the Whitfield-Mansfield Road, via an easy but narrow dirt track.

Recreation - Offers spectular views of the Valley and the opportunity to explore another part of the Ned Kelly Trail.
