Not often seen in the Reserve are the wombats that live in this area.  I think they look like fluffy bears. Did you know they can only be found in Australia? And they are nocturnal which means they come out at night and they live in a burrow during the day.

They weigh as much as I do (25 kg) and are extremely strong, actually they dig better than I can. They wobble along at night grazing and do not want to play tag when I find them.  They just say hunh, hunh, hunh, hunh!

Wombats and Labradors share some things in common - we both love our food, sleeping  and digging when no one is watching!
